Schefflera taiwaniana.
Syn: Heptapleurum taiwaniaum
Common name: Taiwanese schefflera
Supplied in various sizes.

This is a large semi evergreen shrub or small tree with either a single-stemmed  or a multi-stemmed plant. It’s glossy, dark leaves have up to 11 narrow, pointed leaflets arranged like the spokes of a wheel, and held on dark red stalks. Young foliage is covered in attractive silvery hairs. Lime green to pale brown flowers are produced in branched sprays in late summer, which are followed by purple-black berries in late autumn to early winter.
Considered hardy by the RHS, however young plants will need protection once planted out in their first few years.
Plants supplied by us will need carefully growing on in steadily larger pots, starting small and using a free draining compost mix. Provide frost free protection of a green house or similar until they acquire a woody base to their stems, probably when they have filled a 3 litre pot. Compost must not dry out but equally they hate being in poorly drained wet compost.
Plant out eventually into well drained soil in a sheltered position in dappled light. Dislikes harsh, cold drying winds and wet soil.

Part shade/ dappled light.
Well drained soil
RHS hardiness rating H4

Plants are supplied in various sizes, with their compost and are similar to the plants seen in pictures 3 and 4. Picture one and two shows a planted specimen and is not the plant for sale.
