Aptenia cordifolia 'Red Apple'
Common name: ‘The baby sun rose’
Supplied in a 7cm pot
This is a delightful trailing succulent in the ice plant family. It has heart shaped glossy green leaves and small bright red flowers that appear from June to September. A South African native, Aptenia are not hardy and need to be overwintered in a frost free environment. On the nursery we have found that it will survive sub zero temperatures in our poly tunnels, but only if kept dry throughout winter.
Great as ground cover or trailing over a wall or rim of a large pot. Fast growing.
