Nerium oleander (Single Pink Form)
‘Oleander’
Supplied in a 1 litre pot
This lovely tender evergreen shrub can be seen growing right across the Mediterranean where it flourishes particularly in coastal areas. Available in many colours from reds to white and single or double flowers. With a very long history in cultivation it is hard to pin down where Oleanders are originally from, but most consider Western China to be likely.
Our Nerium oleander is a pink flowering form with large lance shaped deep green leaves. The single candy pink flowers are produced from June through to September. It will grow into a substantial shrub particularly if given space and care.
Oleanders require a free draining compost with plenty of organic material added. Grow in terracotta pots with good drainage and move under frost free glass, or similar over winter. Can be grown planted outside only in frost free southern costal areas of the Uk or in warm urban micro climates.
CAUTION must be taken with all Oleanders as they are toxic, particularly when cut or trimmed. Gloves must be worn when pruning and all parts of the plant are toxic if eaten in any quantity.
