Colocasia 'Blue Hawaii'
Supplied in a 9cm pot

Colocasia esculenta 'Blue Hawaii', is eye catching cultivar produced from the common ‘Taro’. This tropical, big leaf has large ovate heart shaped leaves with dark ribs and edges displaying intricate blue-grey veining on stems of deep burgundy. If you want to achieve maximum tropical in the UK summer garden this is a must have plant.
Grows to around 150cm tall and requires a constantly moist soil throughout the growing season.  Best in a sheltered spot in dappled shade, but best leaf colour is produced in full sun and plenty of water. Store tubers overwinter in a dry, frost free place. Bagging with just moist vermiculite over winter helps prevent the tubers/corms from drying out too much.

Light shade/full sun
Well drained  but moist soil
RHS hardiness rating H2/H3

Plants are supplied in a 9cm pot, with their compost and are similar to the plants seen in pictures 3. Picture 1  and 2 shows a mature planted specimen and is not the plant for sale.
