Eucomis Bicolor 'The Pineapple Lily'

Eucomis bicolour, known as ‘The Pineapple Lily’ comes from eastern central South Africa, where it grows wild in wet meadows and along stream banks. Flowers in late summer on 60cm tall stems, topped with a pineapple like tuft. Individual star shaped flowers are cream to apple-white and edged with maroon.  
Needs to be mulched well in winter or lifted and given winter protection under cover.
