This is a very large but slow growing tree like cactus from high altitudes in the Andes mountains and this is one of the hardiest columnar cacti that can be grown in Europe. It will survive -9C if given an extremely free draining compost and dry winter conditions. Best grown in a pot and moved under glass in winter. ** We have recorded temperatures as low as -12C in our Polytunnels and these cactus have come through unharmed**
