Yucca filifera
Supplied in a 1 litre pot

This large dramatic Yucca is native to the Chihuahuan desert in North-Eastern Mexico. Yucca filifera forms a branching upright tree eventually, however most in cooler climates stay as single trunked specimens. The sword like upright leaves are edged with threads of white and are tipped with a sharp spike, so handle with care. Flowering on mature specimens is spectacular with long clusters of white bell shaped flowers which, unlike most yucca, hang downwards on long stems.
Plant Yucca filifera in very well drained soil in large pots or better still in a raised bed or slope. Needs full sun and no additional water during the winter. This fast growing desert tree will need some winter protection from excessive water and temperatures below -5℃

Full Sun
Well drained soil
RHS hardiness rating H3 (H4 with protection)

Plants are supplied in a 1 litre pot, with their compost and are similar to the plants seen in pictures 2 and 3. Picture one shows a mature specimen and is not the plant for sale.

Please note that these plants have been repotted this spring (2022) and will not need repotting until late summer .
