Cylindropuntia imbricata

Cylindropuntia imbricata known also as 'Tree Cholla' is one of the best-known and widespread cacti, ranging from Colorado through the Southern states to Mexico, preferring gravelly and sandy soils in desert and grassland at an elevation of 550 to 1800 meters. This hardy cactus has eye-catching daisy-like purple flowers up to 8cm across.
In cold areas, grow in pots and move under glass for winter, or plant out in a raised bed in warmer urban or coastal areas. But please beware of the spines and glochids, so keep away from children and pets!
Plants are seed grown at our nursery.
