Canna altensteinii Supplied as per photos Canna altensteinii is a bold, tropical-looking perennial grown from rhizomes, prized for its enormous paddle-shaped leaves and tall, dramatic flower spikes. Reaching 2.5 meters tall with a 1 meter spread, its lush deep-green foliage forms an architectural clump topped in summer by large orange-red blooms that attract pollinators. Thriving in full sun and rich, consistently moist soil, it performs well in borders, containers, and near water features; lift and store rhizomes in colder regions or mulch heavily in milder areas. Low-maintenance and statement-making, Canna altensteinii adds instant tropical flair to any landscape.
