Gladiolus papilio ‘Ruby’

This is a cultivar Gladiolus of the papilio group. The flowers are a deep ruby red and are held on stems up to 60 to 80cm high on stems surrounded by glaucous sword shaped leaves. The corms are fully hardy if planted in a free draining soil, that does not become water-logged in winter. They will spread quite quickly into a small group, making a fabulous display in July to August.
