‘The Giant Red Hot Poker’

This is a fantastic addition to any exotic garden. More like a giant Aloe than it’s relatives. Huge rosettes of broad leaves edged with fine teeth. The plant slowly forms a small trunk over time. Flowers are on a stout stem to about a meter. The flowers are much like the classic Kniphofia flowers, being orange fading to yellows.
The real attraction of this fabulous plant is the big rosette of leaves which definitely look at home with palms, agave and other exotics.
Grow in well drained, moist and rich soil in full sun. Very hardy in our experience.
