Hedychium coronarium ‘Gold Spot’
Large flowered, scented, hardy ginger

A hybrid selection from a renowned nursery in India. Like the species H. coronarium, ‘Gold Spot’ has large white flowers but with an egg yellow spot at the centre of the flower and like the species the flowers are beautifully scented, particularly in the evenings.
This is one of the hardier species and requires only a mulch of dry bark clippings in winter.
