Hosta ‘Empress Wu’

This is a giant, jungle Hosta growing to 1.2 meters high and 2.0 plus meters wide. Leaves are mid blue/ green and deeply crinkled and they grow to massive proportions. This is a plant that demands space and attracts attention and rightly so, being named after the only woman to rule China in her own right. Wu was the sole officially recognised empress regnant of China in more than two millennia.
Back to this magnificent plant… Fast growing but needs plenty of well drained rich compost and protection from slugs and snails.
